I absolutely am. Welcome to the 21st century design world, where designers
who want more power are willing to bear more responsibilities.
Designers who cannot effectively position a given design within in the
business context for which it was created or who cannot fully appreciate the
technical ramifications of their design choices are not experienced
designers (for lack of a better phrase) and are almost never given the
responsibility to make strategic decisions that will directly impact the
direction of that product. They are, then, generally limited to visual
implementation.
Now, not all experienced designers get to play a strategic and leadership
role (unfortunately), but when they do, it's almost always the case that
they have solid business and technology experience and appreciation. You
see, without that they just won't be taken seriously by the business or the
technology side of that triad.
> Ziya, you're slipping.
As always, thank you for looking out for my well-being and your warm and
all-embracing concern.
