Hi Harry,

my own view is that we have the duty to present the clients with
options - and if they still want to shoot themselves in the foot, then
we've done our best. Such truisms as "you will test this software,
either before it goes out, or after" and "if you want it to be used,
you have to make it usable" tied together with a few anecdotes seem to
go a long way.

I don't think anyone makes any friends or influences too many people
(say, what a neat title for a book!) by loudly pronouncing the client
wrong. A little diplomacy and tact help.

I don't belong to any associations, and I don't know the IA's Oath -
but here is a prayer for you: "God, grant me the wisdom to see the true
path, the grace to accept those things that will not change, and
deliver me from hand-editing these $#%^^& tables in Visio!" :)

Cheers, Andrew
