THE POSITION
In our San Francisco office, we have an immediate opening for a Senior Information Architect (Sr. IA). The Sr. IA is essential towards creating a successful user experience. From the outset of the project the Sr. IA works with clients and Agency team members to define the overall vision and the user experience of the site. The Sr. IA draws upon his/her knowledge of the industry and trends in the areas of IA, and user-centered design to create innovative solutions, which deliver value to the users and results to our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide strong leadership to both clients and multi-disciplinary team members
* Effectively convey ideas and solutions to clients and team members
* Understand the target users' needs and the overall business objectives
* Conduct heuristic and competitive site evaluations to deliver uniquely ownable, user-centered executions
* Create client-facing deliverables such as user-experience strategy, user journeys, site maps, site flows, user personas, template schematics, content matrices, use cases and interface specifications
* Plan and conduct usability testing as an integral part of the design process
* Identify process improvements and innovations that increase efficiency and effectiveness

You are passionate about providing the right solution to the right user, drawing on your knowledge of technology to design innovative solutions. You are a strategic thinker than can also be tactical when needed.

You have a keen understanding of rapidly fragmenting attention spans and information overload. Where others see challenges, you see opportunities to engage users while providing them efficient pathways to their information. 

QUALIFICATIONS
* Integrate well with multi-disciplined teams and provide leadership in areas of expertise
* Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles, and user analysis techniques
* Degree in a related field, such as HCI, technical communications, library science, information architecture, graphic design, or industrial design
* 5+ years experience working in internet consulting, e-business or an online division of mid-large companies
* 2-3 years experience as an information architect, interaction designer, or user experience architect
* Strong presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups
* Strong knowledge of IA tools such as Visio, Omnigraffle
* Familiarity with Photoshop, InDesign, Flash, AJAX, XML
* Experience with Blog tools, RSS, social software, Wikis, podcasting a plus
