User Experience Designer, Herndon, VA | 60-95k
My client is looking for someone who can create user-centric process
flows & page layouts from functional requirements (in the form of
wireframes). Additionally, the candidate will possess strong strategic
skills to work through the use cases behind the UI (writing the UI
requirements).
If you have a passion for e-commerce, design, & usability, they offer
the opportunity to have you develop UI that will be used by millions of
our online customers.
The User Interface Designer will work on the User Experience team and
will oversee the user interface of the web site.
The ideal candidate will have experience creating interaction designs,
process flows & screen layouts. Additionally, they will develop UI
requirements (wire frames & screen specifications) to maintain and/or
enhance the Web site.
Strong user interface & usability skills along with experience working
on transactional Web sites is required.
Responsibilities:
* Create interaction designs, process flows & screen layouts
* Ensure that pages, functions, and process flows are highly usable to a
variety of customer types
* Successfully integrate new product & service offerings into the Web
site
* Provide and document design solutions based on expertise, research
data and Web analytics
* Develop UI requirements (wire frames & screen specifications) to
maintain and/or enhance the Web site
* Interpreting Web Analytics and solicit feedback from users to provide
solutions based on user needs
* Work with copywriters to develop and simplify content to users
* Perform competitive analysis and catalog best-practices for various
business spaces
Qualifications:
* Strong UI design, information design and problem-solving skills
* Excellent user interface & interaction design skills with experience
working on highly transactional Web sites
* 4+ years of experience in a related field such as a usability
engineer, information architect, user interface designer, etc.
* Proficiency with standard design and documentation tools (Adobe,
Visio, etc.)
* Ability to articulate design solutions and sell stakeholders on design
recommendations
* Understanding of purchase behavior and methods of presentation for
online purchase and management behavior
* Extreme attention to detail
* Solid project management skills
