[Sigia-l] Interesting use of Flickr: DIY guide

Hi all...

I came across a *very* interesting use of Flickr today. Someone built
a mirror box that allows him to see a display on one of his
synthesizers more easily, and he documented the process with
step-by-step photos on Flickr. Here's the link:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jamesfriesen/126022021/in/photostream/">http://www.flickr.com/photos/jamesfriesen/126022021/in/photostream/</a>

It seems to be the embryo of an idea, as this DIY project is not
really its own photostream. It's mixed in with other pictures. Also,
the text instructions follow the typical "Insert tab A into slot B"
pattern, but it is not clear which piece is which in the photo. It
would be clearer if he had used Flickr's image markup capability.

One of my favorite parts of this little project is that the second
photo is a diagram that you are meant to print out as your first step
of the project. This takes Flickr further along from being a *photo*
sharing site to becoming an *image* sharing site. I know there are
other diagrams and such out there, but for some reason this particular
one seems to represent something important.

Enjoy,
Fred
