Ziya
Try reading carefully, instead of pontificating. I want it to work for
me - and I asked the question to find out what others (who I thought
might have a good idea of such things) thought. I didn't intend to
start a discussion on design as such - just to ask about what was
considered good.

Features are much more than visual cosmetics. I do not equate the two,
and if you really thought that was what I was saying, then you didn't
understand me, or deliberately misunderstood me.
I'm not advocating an approach to design. I'm asking about software
which allows me to do things in certain ways. Basic things.
Fundamental things. I really appreciate the offer from Todd to help
troubleshoot, but I'm feeling overexposed on this list at the moment,
so will retire and try sort it out some other way.

Thanks again to those who were helpful.

Ziya may have advanced the discussion in his own mind, but I don't find
the comments have been any help. Oh, and I cook from scratch. I always
look for raw ingredients and create meals. I don't do 'fast food', or
pre-prepared food. I guess I don't do pre-prepared software too well
either! :-)

Regards
Amanda Cossham
