I have been stationed in the US several times over the past 12 years.
My colleagues and I have learned that in the US people spend more
hours at work, doing less work related stuff. In Europe (what ever
that includes?!), people are present from 9 to 5 being fully efficient
and focused at their job. They don't spend time on endless surfing and
posting provocative, know-all statements to mailing lists, and at the
same time claiming to be involved on large enterprise projects.
