[Sigia-l] RE: Google Appliance

I have used both Google's appliance as well as Thunderstone's
(thunderstone.com) --- I must say that in almost all aspects, Thunderstone
was a superior product. This may be due to the nature of the project in
which the two were evaluated--however, generally speaking, you can hack
Thunderstone and really turn it into a platform --- whereas with Google, you
get a functional out-of-the-box unit that performs well but leaves very
little room for core integration.

Having met with some of the higher-ups at Thunderstone, I get the impression
that their appliance evolves inline with market needs --- that said, you
only need to look @ their client list to get a feeling for the types of
industrial strength integration possible with Thunderstone.

Quick and easy addition = Google
Hackable enterprise addition = Thunderstone

Hope that helps!
