Ok. This makes sense.

I suppose in my case the example was, specifically, "Investors" and  
"Advisors" which some would label "beginners" and "pros"

I'm unclear whether the original poster's "Novice" and "Expert"  
labels were a metaphor, or literal. If they are literal, you advice a  
la Cooper et al. would be most applicable.
