Current? The world has moved on since Norman, who managed to say: "the world
wants compatibility now. It wants to communicate, and this means one brand
dominating."

Guess which company he was working for at the time he made that assertion.
>From startups to governments, the world, it turns out, has spent the last
decade trying very hard not to be dominated by one brand, especially given
the fact that that brand is a convicted monopoly abuser, hell bent on
extending and extinguishing innovation.

Norman's gyrations on interface design, user experience, usability, etc are
well documented...in his own writings.

Most people who admire Norman cannot cite a single example of significant
design achievement at Apple (or subsequently at HP or Microsoft, for that
matter) along the lines of, say, Jonathan Ive (ID) at Apple or Anders
Hejlsberg (Arch) at Microsoft.
