I love this - the concept is great.
It's interesting that the solution to the lack of direct interaction
(this is, after all, still an abstraction device) is to translucently
overlay an image of hands. I'm not sure I love the idea, but it's an
interim step.
I'm also assuming that this is a three-dimensional input device still
trapped in a two-dimensional world. I still wonder how long until we
see three dimensional displays in wide enough use to be considered
common (Negroponte, as I recall, thought it would take quite a while.)
