I disagree that it's "completely unusable." I agree that it's not an optimum
design solution. I can only hint that you haven't seen the UI solution it
deserves and will get.

(Incidentally, if you've been following Apple over the last 4-5 years,
you'll note that it has changed its policies on HIG and timing/delivery of
apps fairly drastically. Let's say that waiting for complete solution in
version 1.0 is no longer their ultimate design goal. I'd be happy to go into
detail on this but it just doesn't change the facts on this thread about
open source. OS should succeed on its own, regardless of what Apple, Adobe
or Microsoft does. That it has been just aping what they do for so long is
one of its primary problems.)
