I'm reminded of Sturgeon's Law, which is derived from Theodore Sturgeon's
response to the question, "Isn't most science fiction writing crud?" to
which Sturgeon replied, "99% of everything is crud."
Maybe most FOSS applications are poorly designed because 99% of
*everything* is poorly designed.
