It is from the Latin - nomen meaning "name", and  clature 
(klah-tew-ray), meaning the sound that occurs when you surprise your cat 
picking through the piled up plates on the kitchen bench the morning 
after a big dinner party, resulting in an explosion of plates, cutlery, 
and half-empty wine glasses :)
