That they don't like PPT is indeed completely independent of that. They
still don't like it. These are not people in the "PPT is bullets" camp, or
even in the "presentations are bullets" camp. Their dislike of PPT is more
to do with the effort required to do what they want to do - that gets
annoying quickly, particularly since they may give a presentation ten times
in a week and need to customise it before each time.
Of course, there may be options in PPT that would make them happier - users
in general are often not keen on self-education. If it's not obvious, it may
not get used at all, even if the user knows they need the feature.
