[Sigia-l] Meaning of "unified development methodologies"

You can also use UML to create a model of a system from the user's perspective
-- i.e., a conceptual model. So, for example, a "user object" such as a
shopping cart, a confirmation, or a web seminar may ultimately translate into
some kind of function, application, content type or specific content object,
interaction pattern, policy, or some combination of these. The modeling, which
includes many types of diagrams, is done by user engineers (that's what
we call
them here); the interaction design is done by IA's; and the implementation
design is done by IT architects.
(I'm oversimplifying in this description. The modeling work, alone, can take a
small army several years, depending on the scale of the
site/application/system, of course.)
