I am taking the liberty of trying to answer, though I was not involved in
the discussion of what the list should be or for whom.  

I asked whether this was to be a IA curriculum list or an Admin of IA for
universities list at the get go, as I could and can set up both.  The
response was basically not to divide, to let one list serve both purposes.

I think the list traffic will determine the character and scope of the list.
But we (which means you, subscribers), may want to construct a set of basic
tags for the subject lines to indicate categories so that subscribers can
set up filters if the wish. I'm thinking, very simplistically, of
"curricula," "admin," "job," etc. as appropriate.

And for those who were on this list from the creation, following discussion
with the real moderator, this morning I posted to three ASIS&T lists the
availability of this list.  There have been a couple dozen subscriptions
since.
