I personally agree with your message, Matthew, but I especially want to
point you to an organization and Web site whose mission is to encourage
connections and idea exchange among the many user experience disciplines
whose members care about such things - http://www.uxnet.org.

Your message also brought the Cluetrain Manifesto to mind.  I think it's
just about 5 years ago that the book was published .....
