Did you know that Grokker's interface also follows a faceted
classification? You notice this when you move your mouse pointer over
one of the 'balls'. When you do a mouse over, some of the other 'balls'
light up. This means that the same page (ball) also occurs in these
other groups. Have a look.

I am not saying I am recommending Grokker. The search result is
impressive, the interface is nice but it gives you little control over
the settings.

Hi Marcel,

I have seen it, and it is good :) I was a big fan of kartoo when it
first appeared - grokker seems to have taken that visual facet model and

moved a bit further down the line with it.

Thanks, Andrew

Hi Marcel and Andrew-

It is really good :)

Sun Microsystems launched Grokker internally enterprise wide - see the
press release from yesterday:

If anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to talk to you - I was the
project manager at Sun for this effort within SunLibrary.

I'd be curious to find out what specific problem Grokker solved at Sun
that
other products failed to.

Very nice, but what i don't like that much, is the tooltip/popup in the
search results. It often hides other highlighted facets.

So would I. Personally, I find that because the system chooses its own
categories for me, I find it's not very useful. For example, searching
for the name of the company I work for puts our website in a "British"
category within a "General" category, but not the "Company" one.
Presumably because we have a .uk TLD and not a .com, and don't mention
the word "company" in our name. I'd say that was arbitrary to the point
of uselessness, and feels particularly bad because I happen to know that
the categorisation in spurious, but what if I didn't?

Jonathan

"It all comes back to the fact that in order to really raise innovation

else, you have to increase the amount of design thinking inside
organizations. Doing so helps you get to clarity faster, helps your

Did you know about Google Search History? It shows you
- when
- you have search what and
- what pages you opened

It says it is still beta. But it works wonderfully!! Google sure did a
great service there for me.
