[Sigia-l] interchangeable text format

Hi everybody,

i have written a very (read: very, very) rudimentary text processor for
my private purposes.
It can open, edit and save text (let's say poems or other short
paragraphs).

The saved text is wrapped with a home-grown "markup" (just for testing),
saving semantics like "author", "subject", "headline", "content"...

Now I would possibly like to share the app and those text-files (the
format could be anything from .txt to xml) with friends. 

So I wonder what would be the best and sustainable way to markup the
text.
I would like to stick to standards, but want to keep it as plain as
possible.
