Hi Jan,
Isn't it always the case - we all understand the concepts but the names are
never the same. By meta navigation I first thought you meant contextual
navigation - that is the 'see also' and 'related' links that make a site
easier to use as well as area specific navigation that you need for sites
above a certain size. I call the site map, search and help (does a web
site really need a help option?) links that are usually at the top right
and in the footer (terms and conditions, privacy, about us stuff) 'overall
navigation'. As with most stuff I do it's grown out of having to do it
many times over and think of a name for it. I was calling it Uber
Navigation till some said they didn't like the sound of that.
