I'm not endorsing or refuting the direction of the article, I thought it was
an interesting read (perhaps the way most passing drivers find a car wreck
interesting).

Don's an interesting cat. He did pretty much nothing significant while
employed at Apple (shareholders might think about that) and despite not
being a designer himself he "(re)discovered Design" over the last five years
or so (especially if you compare his sensibilities with his partner Jakob).
While that's an admirable development, he's just not very good in explaining
things. He meanders through imprecision after imprecision, and yet often he
manages to touch upon really important subjects. FWIW, last week I skimped
through some of his books and was left with a sense of being, uhm, under
whelmed. However, I think his heart is in the right place, so I hope his
conceptual frameworks gain the necessary finesse over the next five years.
