[Sigia-l] length of nav labels

I'm doing a website redesign project for a nonprofit foundation. The
foundation's work is difficult to summarize in two or three words, so
here's where we are at the moment with category names for the site:
What makes a great girls' program
Great girls' programs GBF funds
Sisters Empowering Sisters (<--the only program they run themselves)
How GBF has strengthened many girls' programs
About the foundation
These are certainly longer than most sites' navigation labels, but
are they unreadable?
Does anyone have statistics on this?
We don't have time to do substantial user testing, although we'll try
to work some in on the fly. So it's my word, as well as the client's
instincts, driving the final choices.
I'd appreciate input on this.
Thanks,
Hilary
