[Sigia-l] Visio, wireframs discussion

As I was reading the previous responses about use of Visio vs. CSS/XHTML to
produce wireframes, etc., I realized that as a relative 'beginner' in IA, it
might not be a bad idea for me to take the NYU class and learn a little more
about using Visio in this capacity. As I look back on my work experiences
designing wireframes and prototypes for a corporate intranet, I was creating
these wireframes in pure HTML (we did use Dreamweaver later on) b/c we
didn't have access to Visio at that time. It was a pretty basic website at
the time and a CMS wasn't in place yet.

I agree with what many of you said about how it really depends on the
project you are working on and the company/client with which you are
working, as each one might do things a little differently.
So it's good to know at least a little bit about each. I think employers
are impressed when a candidate has an understanding about various methods
and can learn a new one quickly.
