And that is where you got off at the wrong turn.
There is an implied bigger convention in Tom's example that makes the
difference in the meaningfulness of "010101" and "January 1, 2001".
That bigger convention is what you called configuration. If you change
or remove the configuration, you are no longer dealing with the same
example that Tom had.
In Tom's example, the difference in meaningfulness was not due to the
presence or absence of a person. Thus, I wrote earlier that the key is
in the configuration, not whether there is a person around.

You thought it would be self-evident. But it was not. Thus, I ask you
to quote from what I wrote to explain the connection you see to your
claim.
People cannot read your mind. When you accuse people, the
responsibility is therefore on you to explain the accusation. Thus,
refusing to explain is irresponsible.

No excuse is necessary for it is completely your choice whether you
want to be responsible.
