Hi Dan,
Persona are a very powerful means of translating this information.
They are well-document in Alan Cooper's book About Face 2.0.  I would 
advise that you take this step seriously and put some time into it. 
They can be very powerful and enduring.  I also advise that  some 
people on your team (not necessarily you!) might need to be reminded 
that each piece of information from your research is just that  - a 
piece of information.  It does not dictate a final design - it just 
informs the design process and decisions that will be made.
