There is a nice feature on multimap.com
 
Choose a map such as...
 
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&db=pc&cidr_client=none&lang=&pc=W1 <http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&db=pc&cidr_client=none&lang=&pc=W127TS> 
 
Now click on the Aerial button above the map and move the mouse around the map...
 
I like this. Never actually found a real use for it though :o)
