I'm surprised by the question, and the answer here.

Movable Type is most definitely a content management system. It skews 
in favour of managing blog oriented content, but it can do a great deal 
of other tasks.

It also has major limitations, and certainly shouldn't be treated as a 
full fledged enterprise ready CMS. In massive installations, it will 
probably not be appropriate.

Rather than apologize, I would treat this as a feature: many sites 
would be well served by Movable Type rather than any of the larger 
systems. Easier to implement, lighter on resources, better all 'round 
experience. Recognize that is has limits, and embrace them - don't 
resist them.
