User Experience Designer

Slingshot, a full-service marketing and advertising agency in Dallas, Texas seeks a User Experience Designer to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities:
 - Develop underlying concepts and detail user interface elements behind large-scale websites.
 - Internalize the business goals and competitive strategy of the product to be designed.
 - Conduct formal and guerilla user research and map findings to detailed product requirements.
 - Create wireframes, site maps and architectures that marry business, technology, and user needs.
 - Be familiar with best practice standards in UI, but not be afraid to create a few of your own if the need arises.
 - Think at a system level and document page-level details.
 - Be able to grasp the technology capabilities and limitations that drive what your designs can do.
 - Convincingly articulate your ideas in client meetings and through documentation.
 - Lead the UI effort on some projects, and work with another UI leader on others.
 - Enjoy a collaborative environment, pooling your ideas with team members who lead business strategy, visual design, and technology initiatives.

Qualifications:
 - Five years direct experience in information architecture and experience design required including knowledge of IA and design processes and methodology.
 - Minimum BA/BS degree in Library Science, Psychology, Human Factors, Fine Arts or related field.  Advanced degree preferred.
 - Software proficiency in MS Visio, Adobe Photoshop & Acrobat.
 - Prototyping capabilities in HTML, CSS.
 - Rich-media storyboarding and interaction design for Flash or AJAX-based applications.
 - User-research and testing methods including focus groups, usability testing and survey design.
 - Applicants must demonstrate the highest quality thinking, presentation, and execution.
 - A portfolio including functional designs or UI Specifications is required.
