that's an interesting thought. what is your portal and who are your users?
my first reaction regarding dewey decimal is that is was meant to cover
everything in a library, but is rather biased (as is every taxonomy).
would it fit your content or would its bias get in the way? it could be
too general and/or too specific in certain areas. plus, are people really
familiar with the dewey decimal system? i don't know anyone who isn't a
librarian who could tell you anything about it aside from it being the way
books were organized in their elementary school library. beyond that, its
just like any other taxonomy to them.
but again, i think we need more info. at least i do... :)
