[Sigia-l] Google deskop II - more google, less desktop

for those of you who were not aware of it, google just released v2 of
their desktop tool (http://desktop.google.com/)

while all the other desktop search tools are playing catch-up with
desktop search, google has once more blown them out of the water - I
installed it and now have my gmail, my blog (how did it know where to
find my blog?), my photo album, the weather, news and more all
beautifully integrated onto the desktop as a sidebar

aside from the obvious physical continuing encroachment onto the
(Microsoft) desktop, this is in my view another major step in the
blurring of the whole desktop-browser border
