Thanks to Daniel and Donna for the kind words.
As a researcher, my interest is in exploring the problem space. Our
research points to certain findings, but those findings are within a
context. All the interesting things happen at the edges of that context.
When people point out counter examples or bring up questions, we're
exploring the most interesting part of the research. So, I don't need to
feel threatened in these conversations -- on the contrary, I very much
encourage the discourse.
In fact, we've taken things a step further and created a blog, just for
this purpose. (You can see it here: http://www.uie.com/brainsparks ) At
first, we considered not allowing comments, but quickly dismissed that
idea, as we want to encourage people to ask about the work.
Every time I answer a question about our research, I learn something about
where folks are coming from and what they need from us. It helps me explain
our work even better the next time.
I'd like to encourage people to check out our blog and give us comments.
