Position title:                   Information
Architect


 

Position Summary:

 

Serve as the information and interaction design
expert on projects, performing the IA aspect of
client work on project teams, ensuring that the
most effective, innovative solutions are used.
Act as subject matter expert in business
development opportunities.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

·         Work with clients, design staff, and
other project team members to architect
information effectively for websites and other
creative projects. 

 

·         Perform content analysis, task
analysis, task modeling, and usage scenarios.

 

·         Create and documents information design
concepts and solutions by various means,
including sketches, diagrams, maps, storyboards,
and rapid prototypes.

 

·         Develop effective user-centered
solutions for various types of advanced web-based
transactions. Work with developers and testers to
ensure high usability of applications.

 

·         Develop expert-level knowledge in
information and interaction design; apply this
knowledge appropriately to create solutions that
best meet clients’ strategic needs and build
desired client-customer relationships.

 

·         Work to integrate effective information
and interaction design strategies and practices
into our overall design process.

 

·         Maintain consistent focus on
exceptional customer service, working to ensure
that all information architecture practices
effectively and directly address client needs.
Establish knowledge and results-based
relationships with clients, including keeping
clients informed about information architecture
progress and issues, aiding project development,
maintaining a clear understanding of clients’
business issues and objectives, identifying
changes in project scope, addressing quality
assurance issues, and communicating client
concerns to project managers / creative director
/ appropriate members of the project team.

 

·         Stay abreast of new and innovative
trends in the information architecture discipline
as well as industry news and developments; work
to build similar knowledge among other design and
production team members.

 

·         Assist in sales and business
development efforts as required, from
requirements gathering to writing formal process
descriptions to proposal and presentation
material development. 

 

·         Assist project managers, account
managers, and creative director in scoping and
estimating IA projects, and presenting concepts
to client when appropriate.

 

·         Help strengthen our design practice by
supplementing subject matter expertise and
credibility.
