That happens on systems with tight memory. FWIW, Index Server
performance can be tuned:

Start> Settings> Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Computer
Management.

On the left panel, expand Services and Applications.

Right click on Indexing Service to select All Tasks> Stop.

Right click on Indexing Service to select All Tasks> Tune Performance.
