Job Description
The role of E-commerce and Internet Merchandising "guru" is of critical
importance to WebCollage's success. It centers around developing and
evangelizing the vision of how manufacturers and their retail partners can
better collaborate on sharing web content and tools, with the purpose of
improving customer education and conversion both in stores and online.
The role entails frequent interaction with many of the largest US retailers
and leading manufacturers, and ongoing dealings with key management levels.
The role also involves significant interaction inside WebCollage with our
field sales organization, project implementation team, product management
and product development.
Specifics Tasks
1. Showcase Design
a. Work with manufacturers to identify the most effective content areas
on their web sites, and propose how to best package it for retailer use
b. Lead the process of defining the specification and design of vendor
showcases and other syndicated content
i. Create standard deliverables and best practices
ii. Lead brand, style and information architecture guidelines
iii. Potentially lead a team dedicated for defining showcase
specification and graphics
c. Work with WebCollage project managers and implementation team to
prioritize requirements during the implementation phase, and review project
deliverables
d. Utilize analytics tools to monitor use patterns of each vendor
showcase and suggest ways to optimize it
i. Meet with manufacturers regularly to discuss findings and suggest
improvements
ii. Communicate value and impact of leveraging vendor content in retail
sites
2. Retailer Collaboration
a. Work with retailers on identifying the best locations on their site
to place vendor content -vendor showcases and individual content items - and
how to best leverage and promote it
b. Lead the discussion with retailers on the value of leveraging vendor
content and how to incorporate it into their strategic direction. Address
potential issues such as usability, branding, and control
3. Corporate Responsibilities
a. Support sales team in working with manufacturers and retailers on a
pre and post sales
b. Work with product management to provide ongoing feedback and help
identify future opportunities and immediate functional requirements
c. Keep track of industry trends specifically on retail mechanizing and
serve as WebCollage spokesperson
d. Longer term - turn knowledge and experience gained in optimizing
e-merchandising into a consulting practice for manufacturers and retailers

1. Business success and impact for vendor showcases and syndicated
content - visitors, pages, conversions, $ generated
2. Customer satisfaction - overall feedback, follow on business,
renewal rate
3. Retailer acceptance (how well is vendor content integrated and
promoted ) - overall traffic, % of visitors routed to vendor showcases,
number of integration points, retailer satisfaction
4. Longer term - revenue from online mechanizing consulting practice

5. Design Efficiency - design effort, cost and length of implementation
6. Sales team satisfaction - overall feedback, frequency of engagements
7. Product Development - contribution to product direction

1. Retail e-commerce. The ideal candidate has several years of
experience working with large e-commerce sites that target the retail
consumer
2. Information Architecture. The ideal candidate has years of
experience in designing and optimizing customer interactions
3. Field experience. The ideal candidate has regularly represented his

4. Online merchandising. The ideal candidate is the web marketing and
merchandizing of goods
