This was in reaction to the notion that developers get to select colors, and
because it was happening somehow we had to tolerate it. My wager is that if
it was coming from Joe the accountant, instead of Jack the developer, it
would be taken not so seriously. The only reason we tolerate Jack's dictate
on this is that he controls the code without which we don't have a site/app.
To put it more bluntly, I'd like to shift all Design (cap "D") related
responsibilities away from Jack, narrowing his responsibilities to building,
implementation and deployment. Needless to say, as long as the Designer is
in control of the Design process, he can and should solicit input from any
member of the stakeholder family (including the developer) *if* he needs to.
