...And of course there's only one possible design solution.  Once you go 
down the paid inclusion route then you're going straight to hell.

...And what search results have you compared?  I haven't heard anyone 
yet compare Yahoo's results with Google's.  I HAVE heard a lot of people 
acting as though it's a zero-sum game -- saying if Yahoo wins or their 
paying customers win, then the user loses.
