That didn't quite come out right. I don't mean to say that just because
designers get paid they'll begin to influence the process. I mean that the
notion that professional designers will join a process which will be driven
by programmers is nutty, as they get neither influence nor pay.
If the very notion of deciding to pay designers is a tacit recognition of
their value and leadership (hopefully reversing programmer-driven practices)
then it would make more sense. In other words, I see the gesture more as
willingness to change than a matter of mere compensation.
