Web Editor 
Nation's largest business trade association seeks dynamic editor to write,
edit and manage content for various channels of its Web site, now undergoing
a full redesign, and produce e-newsletter from site content. Must be
high-energy, self-directed and deadline-oriented and be able to craft
messages tailored to specific audience segments. Work with staff in various
departments to help ensure that the content they produce for the REALTOR.org
Web site is user-centric with a consistent style, format and quality
standard; enforce content standards for the site. Tact and teamwork a plus
in interacting with various departments across the association to achieve
mutual goals. Specific responsibilities and requirements are: 
.	Edit, publish and manage content for assigned channels of the
association's Web site, REALTOR.org 
.	Envision, create and synthesize dynamic content that meets user
needs 
.	Work closely with internal and external content developers to
promote and ensure high-quality content is created in a timely manner 
.	Develop editorial calendars for specified site areas 
.	Write and manage logistics (deployment, usage tracking, etc.) for
monthly e-newsletter 
.	Assist in the development of content templates and style guides that
exhibit Web best practices and standards 
.	Work efficiently within a defined, tiered content management
workflow system 
.	Work closely with information architect, visual designer,
programmers and content developers in tight-knit team environment 
.	Assist team information architect in the development of navigation
schematics, wireframes, user flows and content templates 
.	Solicit and work with external consultants from a range of
disciplines (authors, designers, taxonomists) 
.	Participate in Web site user testing, usability studies and focus
groups 
.	Communicate site goals and missions to association departments in a
tactful, persuasive manner


Education/Experience: 
.	Minimum of five years experience in Web editing/publishing 
.	Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and communication skills 
.	BA in journalism, communications or related field 
.	Experience developing/managing e-newsletters required 
.	Ability to convey editorial messages to staff/vendors with varying
degrees of editorial expertise 
.	Functional understanding of information architecture and
user-centric Web design 
.	Experience with content management systems and content templating
(preferably Plumtree) 
.	Functional knowledge of controlled vocabularies and taxonomies 
.	Experience working with content metadata, both presentation and
workflow 
.	Experience creating Web site editorial style and standards guides 
.	Functional understanding of Web graphic design, layout and
presentation 
.	Experience working with consultants 
.	Ability to develop pages in HTML 
.	Strong time management, communication and interpersonal skills 

Preferred, but not required: 
.	Familiarity with AP style 
.	Experience with Lotus Notes, Visio and Microsoft Project 
.	Experience with Web publishing software (e.g., Dreamweaver,
Homesite) 
.	Experience working with large associations, or other membership
groups 
.	Background working with large Web sites 
.	Experience in Web site redesigns
