[Sigia-l] networking in Los Angeles/San Bernardino area

I would like to connect with some information architects/user experience
researchers in the Los Angeles/San Bernardino area.  I am interested in:
 - learning about firms in the area that employ talented IA/UE professionals
and do good work in those areas
 - possibly shadowing IA/UE professionals on the job
 - professional interaction that can positively impact what I do at
Claremont McKenna College

I work and live in Claremont, CA, about 30 miles east of downtown LA.

I am pretty new to this list, and I am not currently an ASIST member.  I
have an MILS from University of Michigan, worked for 5 years as a university
archivist, and have been managing the web presence (and other things) for
Claremont McKenna College for nearly 5 years now.  I looked at the LA
chapter (LACASIS) web site, and it seems like I should consider involvement
with that group.
