I use UseMod now, but I tried Twiki first and was unimpressed, for many of 
the same reasons Karl has written about.  I did find that UseMod was not 
quite as configurable as I would have preferred, so I ended up going into 
the Perl and adding some CSS classes to the HTML.  This was relatively 
easy, even though I'm not a programmer.  So. I recommend UseMod--it's an 
easy to set up, no-nonsense wiki.
