Seems to me that we might look at a template as an array of data-display and
data-entry points (in our case mapped out on a screen).  Behind this template
are filters that allow certain information in and out, and deliver commands and
data, hopefully in a way that serves a particular user's NEED.

Stepping way back I see a  need-based architecture constructed around an
independent body of information. This puts us in the position of controlling
(enabling and restricting) how users see the information in there, and what
they see.

That's an awesome responsibility.
