I've read it and recommend it.
It's well written and draws heavily on academic research. He cites a
range of papers, explains them clearly, and brings them all together
into something that is interesting and highly readable. He cites all
his sources so you can track down the original material and read it
for yourself if you want to dig deeper.
I like books like this. They synthesize interesting ideas into
something coherent and fascinating. It's the kind of book that shows
the value of academic research (especially social science research),
but it's not the type of book an academic could write.
