[Sigia-l] Book reccomendation

I'll second this recommendation. The author spoke at my university a 
year or so back. I like the way he's able to articulate design as a 
contextualized activity rather than something imposed on or torn out of 
a context.

By "disruptive" I think Sean's suggesting massive and sweeping change, 
but certainly not chaotic, violent, or dehumanizing. Examples discussed 
include, among other things, the use of sod for factory roofs, which 
absorbs and uses rainwater rather than creating the need to dispose of 
water in large holding ponds. The author covers a lot of gee-whiz 
technological ground, but some of the best cases are examples like 
this, elegant design solutions that take into account context (or 
environment).
