What about free speech? Nobody's questioning one's *right* to speak his
mind, just the point of doing so. Just because you can do something doesn't
mean that it makes sense in every situation. Invert the issue: what exactly
do we (the public) get by these *public* corporate blogs? Anything that
whistle blowing or leaking couldn't solve? Unless it's an extension of
corporate PR, I don't see a point, other than personal preening.

None of those. I know that persistent, truthful and pointed criticism of
one's employers will get one fired, pretty much all the time. It's
irreconcilable with the employer's agenda. If you don't like your employer
there's one honorable thing to do. Public criticism of an employer rarely
improves anything, although I'm sure there are exceptions. I'm all for
leaking/whistle blowing when public good over-rides other concerns. But I
just don't get the point of blogging on one's job/employer.
