It was recommended to me a month or two ago, but I haven't gotten my hands
on it yet. It seems to be academically grounded, not just a bit of fluff.

My first question was as to what the "social" reference means

(a) systems to support social activities
(b) making old systems more sociable
(c) using social effects to derive (conventional) navigation

A great majority of all of the google references are to online bookstores,
but there are a few gems in the mix. From what I found, I suggest that it is
focused in the area of designing environments for social exchange of
information. Various papers reference it while talking about social proxies,
social translucence, and so on. There are a couple of copies of the table of
contents online too, and a draft version of chapter 5.
