[Sigia-l] SUMMARY: Display of unavailable areas within site

My original question asked for examples of sites that had different "levels"
of access -- available to everyone, available to registered users, available
to paying customers.

I've compiled a list of the recommended sites below.
There are lots of sites with two levels of access -- one part that is free
to everyone, one part that is available only to subscribers or customers.
Fewer sites have the three levels of access that I described above, which
one respondent more logically described as bronze, silver, and gold.
The issue I'm facing is that, on the site in question, there will not be one
level of "gold," but every user could conceivably have a different level of
gold depending on what they have purchased and desire access to. There are
very few sites like this, and even so, it is difficult to see how they are
designed because that requires setting up several different accounts with
different levels of access (or, as I was hinting at here, finding someone
who works "on the inside" to explain how they've done it).
In any case, thanks for the response, and if anyone has any additional
comments or links, please let me know.
Jeff
