Medical Doctors and Medical Associations like the AMA still do not
recognize chiropractors as medical professionals, yet many doctors see a
chiropractor regularly. Many doctors see aromatherapists or
acupuncturists, etc.
Nevertheless, the superficial barriers surrounding M.D.'s (i.e. the
American Medical Association) prevent any real (by 'real' I mean
formalized) discussion between these groups. This much is obvious.
Good fences make good neighbors. If we didn't have a fence we'd be
living together -- but togetherness makes 'ownership' very difficult.
You cannot hoard something, glorified, all-to-yourself when you *share*
with others.

I was responding to Steven L. MacCall, Ph.D, who indicated knowledge of
LIS was only accessible to LIS practitioners, or at least only
accessible to the one's who've paid-in-full their 'member' dues.
People seeking tenure should be very familiar with Steven's philosophy.
