Good Morning Mateys,

Your points are well taken. However, at some institutions, this is changing. I am currently enrolled at the University of Washington Ischool for an MLIS and the focus here is far from limited to producing "good librarians". I am currently taking a class in Community Analysis, offered by Dr. Karen Fisher, a noted scholar in the field of information research and analysis. There is also LIS 570 Research Methods which is a core requirement of the Masters program. [Research as a process from problem definition and formulation of questions to design, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Students recognize research opportunities, translate them into researchable frameworks, design research projects, and implement results in libraries and other information agencies.]
Good to have you back.
