Hi Donna / Chiara,

Providing end to end semantic data models is gaining considerable ground -
and not just from a technology perspective. Using some examples from the
broadcast industry you might like to take a look at these:

SMEF
http://www.bbc.co.uk/guidelines/smef/

and

P-Meta
http://www.ebu.ch/tech_32/tech_t3295.html

These tools provide the framework to build the sort of end to end digital
production environments that broadcasters find is becoming increasingly
neccessary if you want to take advantage of Media Asset Management. In the
broadcast industry this is "big potatoes" and links across every element of
the business.

In this respect Enterprise IA is happening and I would strongly contest that
it is not all technologically focussed. Just look at the features in AAF for
example. AAF is the Advanced Authoring Format (AAF) and is a multimedia file
format that enables content creators to easily exchange digital media and
metadata across platforms, and between systems and applications. (their
words not mine...).
